A little goes a long way and becoming a co-sponsor is one of the most effective ways of supporting our work financially on an ongoing basis.
Co-sponsors decide an amount they wish to donate on a regular basis for an indefinite or set period of time. This donation is made by automatic payment from the co-sponsors bank account to our bank account or by Visa or Mastercard.
Each Hearing Dog costs approximately $9,000 to train. We make no charge to the deaf person receiving a Hearing Dog. Your co-sponsorship will help provide food, equipment and training to hearing dogs being socialised and trained. Several co-sponsors can contribute to the training costs of one or more dogs.
All co-sponsors receive a certificate and photograph of the dog(s) they are sponsoring and are regularly updated of the dog's progress.
How to become a co-sponsor
To become a co-sponsor, simply complete the Automatic Payment Authority form and return it to us. We'll liaise directly with your bank to set up the automatic payment or charge your credit card in line with your wishes.
It is entirely up to you to decide an amount to donate on a regular basis. On average, it costs around $25 - $30 a week to feed and care for one dog. If you'd like to donate a larger sum we'd be delighted and a lesser sum will be appreciated just as much. The choice is entirely yours. We welcome all support most sincerely!
On receipt of your first regular donation we will send you a photograph of the dog your sponsorship is supporting together with other relevant information.
Please note: as Hearing Dogs for Deaf People New Zealand is an incorporated charitable trust your total donations for the financial year are tax-deductible. A receipt for the total amount donated by you during the year will be sent to you shortly in April each year.
If you have any queries whatsoever, need guidance or information, please don't hesitate to contact us by phone: 06 769 5000 or fax: 06 769 5400 or email: info@hearingdogs.org.nz
