Fundraising

Undertake a Fundraising Activity

Fundraising, as a group or an individual, is a great way of supporting our work. However, if you do wish to undertake a fundraising activity on our behalf, please let us know so that we can guide and advise you of possible legal implications, provide support materials such as posters and leaflets where appropriate and work with you as required.

Money raised can either be paid directly into our account at any ASB Bank branch, or a cheque sent to us for us to bank. Please do not send cash - either notes or coins - through the post, as money can easily go astray. We will receipt all funds received. Participation in fundraising activities is undertaken on a voluntary basis, free of charge.

Fundraising Ideas

Organise or undertake a sponsored event - Why not organise a sponsored walk, sponsored silence(!) at school, sponsored weight-loss programme or other sponsored activity such as running a half-marathon, undertaking a bike ride or tramping weekend. Even small sums soon add up!

Charge a small fee - for people to attend a quiz night, a cookery demonstration, a coffee morning, a special interest evening, a music recital, an embroidery exhibition or Bridge tournament. Other thoughts include holding a treasure hunt or puppy picnic, having a 'movie night' or simply inviting friends to dinner (for a small fee!) Regular trips or outings are a great opportunity to raise money by adding an extra dollar or two per person to the price !

Donate money raised - from a garage sale, a sausage sizzle, a car-wash fundraiser, a plant sale, raffle, the sale of pre-loved clothing or an auction.

Ask others to make a donation to be made to Hearing Dogs. Why not consider letting friends and family members know you'd like them to make a donation to Hearing Dogs rather than buying flowers or gifts for your birthday, anniversary, Christmas, wedding or funeral for example.

Adopt Hearing Dogs as your preferred charitable cause at your workplace. Could your social club raise funds for Hearing Dogs on an ongoing basis ?

Turn silver into gold - make dollars from cents. Saving your loose silver change each week or month can soon turn into dollars that you might want to consider donating to Hearing Dogs.

Become a Hearing Dogs Co-Sponsor. Make a regular donation direct into our bank account over an indefinite or set period of time. You decide the amount - there's no minimum sum.

Become responsible for a Hearing Dogs donation box. Would it be possible to have a donation box at your workplace, church or friendship group or perhaps your service or social club? We can provide stickers and posters to raise awareness of our work and guide you as to banking and so on.

Obviously there are many other ways in which you might be able to help fundraise for us. Be creative ! Remember, we'll be happy to help by providing appropriate fliers and so on if you let us know of your efforts.
