What is the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People New Zealand National Register ?

Hearing Dogs named on the National Register of Hearing Dogs have full rights of access in public places under New Zealand law. Only those dogs listed on the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People New Zealand National Register have rights of access by law in a public place.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People New Zealand's National Register of Hearing Dogs is your assurance that a certificated Hearing Dog will be appropriately behaved in public place and is providing genuine service to the Deaf person they are with.

All dogs on the national register are required to be assessed at least annually by Hearing Dogs for Deaf People New Zealand to ensure they meet or exceed the standards required to remain on the register.

Dogs on the National Register have full rights of access in public places under New Zealand law. The Register of Hearing Dogs is updated monthly and details dogs that are currently in training and those that have been placed.
